| Description: | This position involves providing all aspects of personal care to patients in their homes. |
| Duties: | Duties include but are not limited to: bathing, mouth care, care of dentures, hair care, skin care, nail care, and clothing change. Performs linen change and tidies patient's immediate environment. Obtains and records vital signs including temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressure on each visit , if ordered on care plan. Assists patient with elimination needs including bedpan, urinal, commode and emptying urinary drainage bags if present. Assists with activity or mobility. Provides a safe, secure environment for the patient while care is being given. Instructs patient and family in safety measures. |
| Qualifications: | The CNA must possess a certification of completion of an approved program and have a valid certification from the state in which he/she would be practicing. Must be listed with the NC Division of Facility Services. The certification will have no substantiated findings. |
